This is the case of 25 year old male who recently had his rotation in Obstetrics. Within the 12 hours of duty he witnessed 2 Normal Vaginal Delivery, 1 Forceps Delivery and an Appendectomy (delivery room is just near the operating room) at 3 in the morning.
What made the duty of the said 25 year old male more enjoyable was his conversation with the residents of the said department. He used to think that they were a snotty snob that makes the lives of interns miserable. But after having burger and twister fries with them, it’s clear that it’s part of the learning process that they’ll give you a jolt and a little shake and it was nice to know they’re humans after all. Hehe. One of them is pretty hot too. Haha. Hi Dra. NE! :D
I used to think that our OB chief resident is inconsiderate and just plain bitchy, but after conversing with her, she’s actually okay and very funny. She and one of the residents tried to make a mock interview with the four of us on duty and asked what our favorite subject is. I was about to answer OB. Seriously obstetrics is one of the easiest subjects to study and they stick to the reference book as a source of examination questions, but I ended up answering Rehab Medicine. Lol. Second question was, who’s our favorite consultant is, now I have to answer that honestly since I only like 2 consultant physicians as my professors. One’s from OB and the other is from Surgery. Conversation with them went on and on, and I really appreciate them giving us tips and advices. Our chat was cut short when one of the mommies was about to go on labor, right then we got back to being serious.
Hinga ng malalim, hold your breath mommy and push 1… 2… 3… 4… 5… 6… 7… 8… 9… 10… Push!
X’s – no, I’m not planning to be an Obstetrician, though the perks of working as one is very rewarding. Nyehehhe. :P

@DB - of course it will be rewarding not all OB and Gyne patients are pregnant.hehe. and yes you can put your fingers in for internal exam. imagine the different shapes and sizes and depth. ang sama lang. hehehe :P
actually most male OB here in pinas are... unlike sa US. :D

I'm scared of the sight of bloody vaginas with little crying babies popping out, it's so primal I can't stand it, nakakatakot... So kudos to you for being able to stomach that like "All in a day's (or night's) work.
