Case 4

We are presented with a case of a 25 year old Filipino male, after 18 hours and still wide awake, he’s still elated. As usual, I was cramming making my hand written history which I will present to Consultant X. I still hope you remember Consultant X. Let me remind you about Consultant X… aside from her mean attitude towards students and interns, there’s nothing more that I can add. Hehe. But seriously, Consultant X is like your typical Cat lady. She doesn’t like cats but I bet she loves some pussies. :P

She’s known for howling at students, shouting at interns for small little things. To be fair, she’s really intelligent. Magna Cum Laude and Graduating top of her class in Premed and Med School. At a very young age she’s one of the best Cardiologists not only here in my School but also in Philippine Heart Center.

And today, we finally met.

Don’t you hate it when you were given a bad endorsement regarding one person and when you finally met that person; she’s the opposite of what you expected. Yes, Consultant X has this aura of someone you should be afraid of, but she’s actually nice.

She only wants few things from her students. One is, to read. Seriously, how can you answer her questions if you weren’t even prepared? Two is to practice how you speak and your grammar. I know, I myself make some mistakes but at least I try a little and talk with conviction. Third, if you’ll make a guess at least, make an intelligent one. Fourth, don’t give her a reason to bully and mock you, again if you’re prepared or try to look as if you were prepared, you’re okay. Haha. Lastly, try to act like you’re interested on what she says, even if she calls you the most derogatory things, we need to learn the hard way, right?

I was told I tamed the dragon lady earlier today. Seriously, I don’t carry the laurels for myself, I owe that to my group mates and it was a team work last night. It’s just that I probably read more than them and recall some ideas from my premed course.

Consultant X was all smiles when she left our group after that small group case discussion. Let’s wait next next week if she’ll be the same or she’ll unleash her evil alter ego.

X’s – I accidentally deleted the widows media player and the contents of the entertainment folder in my laptop. Should I just insert my windows CD and will it reinstall lost/deleted data? Huhu!

Case 1

This is the case of JA, 25 years old, male, single Filipino, Catholic, a student/model, born on March 1985 in ---, currently residing in Quezon City, admitted for the nth time in hospital blah blah…

With a chief complaint of lack of sleep, agitation and procrastination.

17 hours prior to consultation, patient was still awake reviewing his prepared case presentation about stroke management. Patient was agitated as hell since his Consultant for that day is known notoriously obnoxious, let’s name her Consultant X, let me tell you something about Consultant X, aside from her mean attitude towards students and interns, there’s nothing more that I can add. Patient tried to do 100 jumping jacks which didn’t afford any relief. No medication was taken.

13 hours prior to consultation, patient received good news, he was told that Consultant X will not be able to come and attend the fucking conference. Patient presented his case to a better and nicer Resident of that Department. Patient was so glad and relieved; he treated his buddies with venti iced white choco mocha.

4 hours prior to consultation, after a warm shower, patient fell asleep immediately in his dorm room. Patient woke up and few minutes prior to admission, he remembered he’s not yet taking any breakfast or lunch.

Now I’m hungry!
