Certified Coffee Addict

Before, I was against reviewing in coffee shops.

Haha! I can finish reading chapters and handouts with ease nung nagbabasa ako sa coffee shop na to specifically the one in Timog and Tomas Morato. It depends where you review siguro like in Morato where most Medical and Law Students review, they have this special tables where you can read. Nakakahawa yung ambiance na magaral since you’re seeing everyone studying. The one in Timog is nice too, spacious, konti ang tao minsan, and nandun yung favorite couch ko na kung anu-anong posisyon na ata nagawa ko. Hehe

Magastos pero I think worth naman kung nakakapagaral ka and mas oks kung makapasa ka, diba? :D

So here’s a random list of the 5 drinks in Starbucks that I usually order. These are the ones I usually order kapag tumatambay lang or nagrereview. Oh, and I usually asked for a mug of ice and water, para di naman puro kape lang iniinom ko. hehehe

1. Iced White Chocolate Mocha

sweet and very light, if you try this, sasabihin mo na, "kaya ko gumawa nito" but no! hehehe

2. Iced Vanilla Coffee Jelly Latte

just tried this yesterday, with one shot of espresso, gising na ko nun. problema nawiwiwi ako ng madalas. hehehe

3. Raspberry Black Currant

usually a hit or miss kasi yung iba parang may mint flavor na ewan.

4. Iced White Café Americano

another pampagising, i was told this have 4 shots of espresso. matapang pero oks naman.

5. Honey Orange Frappuccino Cream Based

i had this last year pa ata, seasonal thingy siguro. yung cream based yung nasa left na kulay white. namiss ko tuloy. :(

Vacation Part 3: A Gloomy Morning in Vigan

I should’ve included this post to my last. Last year I think was CWC, then this year Pagudpud and Vigan.

So where were we ended last time? Ahhhh! So we turned the lights off and slept from 10pm and my 2 mobile phones that I set on 6am, alarmed. One played Lenny Kravitz - Are you gonna go my way and the other played Phoenix – 1901. After our morning rituals, mine was masturbate, shower, brush my teeth, wash my face, apply deo, dry hair, apply moisturizer, and at around 7 in the morning, we went downstairs and ate our free breakfast. Since I acted as the leader the whole trip (weeh? Wag magreact!), I decided that we must have reservations first for our tickets going back to Manila later that afternoon, roam around Mena Crisologo Street or the Vigan Heritage Village, then shop and dine lastly hit the road back to Manila.

Sadly, Partas Bus doesn’t have reservations pala for tickets. Haha! But at least we knew what time we have to leave Vigan. We went back and visited Vigan Cathedral (I was told I have to knock daw the Church’s door kung first time?), the clouds earlier were giving us a warning pala, it was gloomy but it was perfect for taking pictures and strolling the Mena Crisologo Street. The heritage Village has a different appeal at night compared that morning. Seriously, I was mesmerized of what I saw that day. I was thinking how many people set foot on that street. And there’s kinda eerie and astonishing feeling walking through it. Or maybe I felt different kasi we were drunk nga the night prior. hehehe

At around 10:30am, after all the shopping and camwhoring, we decided to take an early lunch and at exactly 12 noon, we bid farewell to Vigan.

So here are some of our pics.

May Pauwi, May Paalis

So how do you usually end your week?

I know most of you are party people :P

Mine is a Grande Iced White Choco Mocha which I sip while taking my ride back home here in Cavite. Then later, enjoy Friday night dinner with my family. We had sinigang kanina! Far better than the cereals that I usually have every night at my dorm. Hehehe! When I start my week kasi, I always think of what will I do for that coming weekend. Para naman mainspired diba? :D

Next month to be exact, I’ll be home alone for a month or two every weekend. I’m actually happy for my brother and my parents who are first time tourists and will actually visit my sister in the City where concrete jungle dreams are made of. :D

They both deserve everything. After all those years ng pagpapalaki sa amin, it’s our turn to pamper them. :D

X's - It’s one of the best news I heard or actually witnessed.

To that person, you know who you are, I’m so happy that you surpassed that situation. With that, I know it made you stronger and more empowered. I told you good things happen to good people. :D

Seat H12

Hey! Salamat sa mga dumaan sa blog. I really really appreciate it. :D

At last I watched SATC2 last night after I got my haircut. I’m accustomed of watching movies alone naman so oks lang. Unexpectedly, Cinema 3 in Trinoma was jam-packed. But good thing I got the best seat in the house because I always reserve tickets with the best view. 5 minutes before time I entered the Cinema with my fave Mixed Cheese and BBQ popcorn from Taters and Wendy's Biggie Iced Tea. :D

What can I say? Hmmm…

I’m familiar with the series in HBO kasi I’ve been watching SATC when I was in highschool pa ata. Sa Wowow pa yun. I don’t know if you know that Japanese channel? Before, you can watch undeleted and explicit scenes there. Hehehe

I’m not going to deny I love the series. Imagine living in New York? The restaurants? The location? The view? It’s like having a tour in NY for free! Though I can’t relate to their fashion, who cares? They had good storylines then.

It’s nice to watch the first and second film. It’s good to see the characters again, how they developed or outgrew their naïve characters before. No offense to those who hadn’t watched the series but if I’ll feel clueless if I watch the films and didn’t know the series. Baka ako lang naman yun. Hehe

Kahit nuon pa, Samantha Jones’ character had the best punch lines and funniest scenes! :D

Ano pa ba?

Oh yeah, I’m making 2 birthday gifts for 2 med friends. Medyo tipidero mode ako ngayon kaya I’m making my gifts. Haha. Oks lang naman siguro yun? It’s the thought that counts sabi nga nila. :D

Lastly, after 7 books and 9 years after the first film… all must end well… L

Ced Out of the City Part Deux

Previously…

After dinner, Ealo, Shey and I toured around the CWC area, and took some pictures. Around 10pm we returned to our cabin, decided to have an early rest so that tomorrow morning we can give a good grip on that rotating cables which will pull us while wakeboarding…

We woke up very late the following morning, maybe because of we’re so tired of the Friday night’s travel and we weren’t even used to travel in a bus for that long, we slept for like 10 hours and woke up at 8am. We had our morning rituals then at 9 am we went to the wakeboarding area.

I decided not to try the wakeboard… yeah, I chickened out and if ever I will try that maybe not with Shey’s schoolmates. And lastly, I don’t like waiting in line for my turn. hehehe
But Ealo and Shey did.

I took some videos of them trying the kneeboard first cause that’s a requirement. Then when you’re used to, you can try the wakeboard.

I did try the swimming pool near the wakeboarding area. I also wanted to get a tan! Hehe

Since I talked a lot in the first part of this post, I’ll let these pictures speak to you. hehe!

yellow for wakeboarders, green for swimmers? lol

tour around!

you can watch wakeboarders from here!

front lawn of the resto inside CWC. mahal ng foood!!!

Front area, sa left side yung front desk.

Ealo and Shey! hihi

Since we didn’t took any breakfast we dined a lot for lunch, and we’re given few hours to relax.

At around 3pm we checked out, we were the first one to occupy the bus but we still have to keep our previous seats. I was again awayt from Ealo and Shey. But the good thing is my seatmate Doni and I talked. Hehe. He thought I was a snob (just like everyone’s first impression!). I said the same to him. hehehe

Based from the itinerary, we should leave Naga at around 8pm, the professor decided we should take a little tour around the town; we visited the Parish Church where the Our Lady of Penafrancia can be found.

We then spent the rest of the time in the town proper to shop for “pasalubongs” and took our dinner.

We thought we were the last ones to return at the bus.

After 10 road constructions and 8 police stopovers, I arrived at 6am safely at Monday morning here in my dorm! Yey!

BTW, I had a 12nn exam the same day…I brought a reviewer with me (see how KJ [krisjasper] I am?) I aced the exam though. Hehehe. Juk lang kuya Kris! hehehe

O ayus ba?

Ced Out of the City Part Un

I’ll be honest, I ‘m afraid to travel, whether it’s on land, air or sea. I have these dismal thoughts that play in my head and it’s full of what ifs. What if I die? What if I were in an accident? And all those things that only God can tell if they will happen. I know… I’m exaggerating! Last weekend, I let those inhibitions and decided to come with 2 friends to go to Camarines Sur (you all got it right! Hehe!). Shey, a friend since high school and a student of the UP-AIT invited Ealo and me.

Did I tell you we were with students 4-5 years younger than us? To make it short, Shey returned right after her graduation in Tokyo last year and is finishing her studies at UP. And we went to CamSur as her project.

I learned few things on that travel, and just like how I told you on my last post, was it worth to exchange my reference books, my Facebook account, my blog, my YM account to all to this place?

BTW I’ll make a 2 part story/post (pagpasensyahan nyo na ko!) hehe

You told us 9 hours!

Ealo, Shey and I decided to meet at trinoma around 5:30pm so we can eat our dinner and buy some groceries. Ealo came from his office, while Shey came from Cavite and I came from my make-up class for Surgery (tama na po ba?) haha. As usual, I’m late! hehe! We met there and did what we have planned, around 7:20 we held a taxi and went to UP campus then arrived 8 minutes late from the call time. With that being said, we weren’t able to choose seats. I told Ealo and Shey they can take the available seat together. I ended seating on a vacant chair 2 rows in front of them, and waited who will seat beside me.

Around 9pm after all 47 listed participants were completed, the bus started its engine, and we’re rolling. It’s nice that my seatmate is as silent as me; there were no exchange of pleasantries and I seated near the window cause I prefer to own the air-condition. Hehe! 2 hours and half passed and we arrived at the first and thought to be the last pit stop for that night. Some ate dinner and I decided not to take anything even water. Haha. I don’t want to be a hassle to everyone cause I’ll urinate every 2 hours. My plan was successful though. At 11pm we’re travelling again. Some groups were noisy and annoying. I fell asleep for an hour and they were still talking, fell asleep again and woke up at 2am and they’re still noisy, 3 am… 3:30 at last they shut up! Hahaha.

I didn’t notice how many more police checkpoints and road renovations but I only saw 2 each while I was awake. It was around 5:30am and 10 kilometers away from the area when our bus started smelling like a burned rubber inside. We waited for at least 2 and half hours for a new bus. The itineraries for Saturday morning events were disrupted. We arrived at the area at 10am. We were supposed to have a tour at that time but the professor moved all activities at afternoon.

We checked in at 11am and rested till lunch. Can you compute how many hour we traveled?

Hi! My name is _____.

Though me and Ealo and 4 more others were externalities from that tour, we still have to join the class’ activities that afternoon. As usual you have to introduce yourself.

That class is still very much like my high school, or that’s what Shey is trying to set in our minds. There were still the popular group, the picture perfect ones, the kikays, the jologs, and us the weirdos. Hahaha (enkai, xtel and muning, I know you three are reading this!) hahaha

So the whole Saturday was intended for games. We introduced ourselves by a game. You’ll write at least 2 words of anything that describes you. Then after that we were randomly grouped by 6 and for a while, goodbye to small groups and hello team members. My team mates are okay, we prefer not to hassle ourselves. There was a lot of running, going inside a cave, looking for things, posing and taking pictures with something, diving to a pool looking for something again, navigating with a compass, and solving some math problems. Me and my team mates were the last one to arrive at the last area and we pretended the task were so easy that we were bored and that’s where we got our team team’s nickname, team Petiks!

After that there was a water sports and the activities ended by mini awarding ceremony at dinner.

After dinner, Ealo, Shey and I toured around the CWC area, and took some pictures. Around 10pm we returned to our cabin, decided to have an early rest so that tomorrow morning we can give a good grip on that rotating cables which will pull us while wakeboarding.

To be continued…

I'll do What A Medical Student Wishes to do

After a very long time, I need a well deserved break… out of the city!

This is another short post cause I need more time to prepare.

Starting tomorrow night I’ll be out of the city. I’ll exchange my reference books, my Facebook account, my blog, my YM account to board shorts, some water, and some fun under the sun! Weeee!

You want to know where my destination is.

You really want to know?

Clue…

It’s somewhere in Luzon, Region V to be exact.

They offer watersports (but my Feng shui told me not to do any dangerous sports)

So that’s all! See you on Monday! =p

Sunday is Family Day

After a week of staying inside the house and after cleaning my room, I treated myself with some touring. Not out of town though. Since it was my uncle’s birthday, my mom’s side of family decided to have a get together, the original plan was an overnight swimming but due to the unpredictable weather, we had our lunch in my Lola’s house. Remember my baby pic with her? My brother and I were not really decided if we will come, I openly tell you, we are not in good terms with that side of family. But since it’s for our Lola, we decided to go and pay a visit.

When we arrive there, you can feel the pressure. Actually my brother is the one who has real issues with them, bias of me and for sure if you are in my shoes, you will feel the same. After some hypocritical picture taking, fake smiles and maybe some fake chewing, my brother and I thought of coming with our dad to visit the farm.

Riding our owner type jeepney really brings back some memory to me. Nostalgic of my childhood when we were test driving it then after a year or so my parents accidentally forgot me in a store because they thought I was at the back of the jeepney. Going back to the farm does the same for me. I remember falling from a “pilapil” and half of my body was soaked in mud! We also have some picnics there.

After 10 minutes, nasa farm na kami. Dati palay at pakwan lang tinatanim namin alternately. But last 2 years, naisipan ng tatay ko na magtanim ng ibang variety like kamatis, sitaw at saging. Pero this year mas naging oks when we planted papaya. Yep! It’s been 8 months na rin since we started papaya business. Click naman sya. Pero what I really enjoyed today is to be away from everything. Wala masyado iniisip. I Took a nap under a tree. I even brought a book with me. Good thing the weather today is ok, warm pero breezy. Hay… sarap talaga!

But we have to cut that trip short. Medyo madilim na rin kasi, and we have to visit another lola. Mas nagenjoy ako sa mga cousins ko on my dad’s side when we visited them. Simple, no pretentions, no fakers, and when I see them alam ko na mageenjoy ako.

After today's tour, I took a warm shower. I stayed longer in the there (wala ko ginawa ha!lol) and had my reflection. Why I kept comparing my relatives on both sides. Why things bother me, why i kept thinking of her. I had a reflection of my week, My-so-unproductive week. And after a day of clearing my thoughts, sadly I ended up filling it up again.

3 Exams Later... REPOST!

Yup, kakatapos lng ng 3rd exam ko kanina. For now, pahinga muna ko, konting unwind...

Gusto nyo clue?

Yun kasi ginagawa ko pagkaexam, treat ko yung sarili ko o kaya regaluhan ko sarili ko, parang pampalubag loob ba! hehe. Reward yun for a job well done! Naks! Tsaka pwede rin syang motivation habang nagrereview, think of some activities na pwede mo gawin o bilhin pagkaexam. Para mainspire ka naman ng konti.

Habang nanunod ako nung sine, oks yung soundtrack neto. Madownload mamaya paguwi! hehe. whoooppss!

10. The Last Time – Eric Benet
9. Stigmatized – The Calling
8. At Your Best – Aaliyah
7. Everytime I Close my Eyes - Babyface
6. Always be my Baby – Mariah Carey
5. Forevermore – Side A
4. Overjoyed – Stevie Wonder
3. The Way You Look Tonight – Tony Bennett
2. One Sweet Day – Boyz II Men
1.1 I Can’t Make You Love Me – Bonnie Raitt

Hehe.

Thanks po Ulit!=]

A Man’s Right to Splurge!

It’s six past ten in the evening, both my leg muscles are so painful, if they can shout D*mn You!!!, they will. Yeah, I’ve been strolling and window shopping today. After waiting for so long for our turn to the lady in the registrar we decided that we had enough and its time to spend! Every enrollment my parents knew I had some kickbacks from it. So they add some cash for my tuition on purpose. I used to trick my parents and add “some” for my tuition before but now that my fee is twice than before I’m so guilty and my conscience can’t bear it. I’m glad they still give me extra though. =) Chad and I hailed a cab to Trinoma.

I had my (yes!?!) first facial. When the lady on scrubs asked me “when was the last time I had a facial?”. At first, I was thinking of lying to her, but like a word vomit I end up saying “my face is still a virgin!”. Hehehe. For a first timer, have to say I enjoyed it and was relaxed except for the pricking part. I thought I can tolerate the pain coz’ I had 2 minor operations and 4 wound sutures but that part made me cry. Hehe. (things we do for vanity nga naman!). The process took us 2 hrs and I give 4 out of 5 stars on that clinic. As of now, I still can’t wash my face. Arrrgghh!!!

I was looking for good black shoes for my uniform and we ended up in Landmark. We literally checked every shoe in every stall. It’s quite irritating actually when all the salesperson follows you and been attending you. I saw 3 good pairs and plans to go back there tomorrow.

I was also looking for a purple polo shirt. I saw a very pricey but looks actually good one in Giordano. It’s plain but it goes well with my other pants. So, I’ll see that one on my cabinet tom! Hehe

Now all that strolling made us sooooooo hungry, we actually ate trice. For our dinner, we ate at WorldChicken and I ordered pesto cream and cheese muffin with chicken fillet and Chad had an asian pasta and macaroni salad with the chicken. We then have a frap and cinnamon rolls at you-know-where! And I had a quezo scoop on Pinoy Sorbetes. Yuuummm!

I think I need a haircut and go back for those goodies at Trinoma. So, do you want to see me? I’ll be there at around four pm! Hehe. No kidding. I’ll be there.

Do I sound like a show-off or what? Well, to be honest, I was doing all of that to set my mind off on what’s going ahead of me. I’m going back to school this Wednesday. I remember this excerpt btw. “We are reviewed everyday. Most of people criticize someone even miles away from them and all of us do it, we judge and we get judged. But in the end of the day, it doesn’t matter what do they say and have to say about us, what really matters is the review we gave to ourselves.”

The Unrest...

After my exam yesterday, my friends and I decided to dine and watch a flick in Trinoma (yes, after 4 months, I finally watched a flick again). Each of us ordered a slice of pizza (my choice as always is Chicago’s) and all time favorite baked ziti with white sauce in Sbarro then watched the flick and after that sang till our throats got dehydrated at Red Box. Have to say, I miss the company of this 2 friends of mine. I literally laughed my heart out in every jokes and every funny things we do. We used to be classmates when we were first years but the effin’ people in the registrar decided to reshuffle the batch. Luckily my buddy from first year is still my classmate, but most of my friends were reshuffled. Okay, I’m being dramatic now. So before this ends to a dramatic post, I’ll review the flick first.

The Unrest

Alison Blanchard, a freshy in medical school, starts taking her Gross Anatomy class where she must confront rows of cadavers--and her own fear of mortality. When the sheets are drawn back to reveal her designated cadaver, Alison senses a strange presence in the lab. Her jaded professor chalks it up to first year "jitters," but her worries increase when a friend is mysteriously found dead in the basement. Alison must find out the story linked to the truth of how her cadaver got there, before its angered spirit can wreak further vengeance on those who dared to disturb the body.
-Synopsis from yahoo

Directed by: Jason Todd Ipson

Starring: Corri English, Scot Davis, Joshua Alba, Marisa Petroro, Derrick O'Connor

So for my review:
I will just post my observation just in case you want to watch this as well
-We were just in for a horror flick, in the light of the coming holidays. Hehe! But we didn’t mean to watch this because we were in medical school, besides, cadavers were so last year. LOL.

-The protagonist – Alison – lives in the hospital. (Her dormitory is in the hospital) based from the story, she’s a wait listed freshy and has some financial troubles. She entered med school to live up her dreams! (I think I heard this one before… from me, I guess. hehe)

-Alison fainted when she saw, for the first time, her cadaver. E ikaw kaya, ang cadaver mo may self-induced lacerations/cuts sa mukha at sa katawan and later known as psychotic cadaver who killed herself, which is a lady and was a doctor btw. Nice!

-The Gross Anatomy Laboratory is in the hospital and there are few people in it. As in FEW. Hehe!

-Common in horror flicks. SEX SCENE after that may lalabas na patay o ung pumapatay. Nga pla, di lahat ng nasa med Horny! Haha

-The protagonist and her boyfriend has to burry or burn the wicked cadaver so the curse will stop. They found the cadaver in a tank were other cadavers were soaking in formalin. The tank is like a 5 door refrigerator which can carry a 6-10 cadavers. Di kinaya ng parang hook ung cadaver, so they decided to jump and soak in the tank! WITH FORMALIN! Kamusta naman un!?!

-The cadaver was the cause of deaths. Its because, she went to Brazil and entered a cave which was used by an ancient tribe where they disposed their dissected human offerings. As I said before, the cadaver was a doctor but suffered multiple personality disorder and then killed herself.

For my reaction
-As always, natuwa ako, di ako natakot! Okay lang libre naman kasi! Hehe

-One of my friend was covering her eyes, when the sex scene came, sabi ko “pati ba naman jan?” haha

-I reminisced my internship days at Veterans Hospital at Mindanao Ave. I was off from the laboratory at around 1-2am to extract a blood from a patient (she’s in a monitory for blood extraction for every 4 hours). All of the hallways in veterans is 25 meters long from the main lobby to every ward and has windows at both sides. That night, there were no lights in the hallway, the only light you can see is from the ward which is on the other end. I need to pass this lobby to get the specimen. Kinda creepy. Hehe.

-Formalin is toxic and used to preserve body parts, pls don’t try what they did!

-In the movie, even you're a freshy, they will call you Doctor... sana dito din! hehe

-I like watching movies at trinoma.

-When we’re getting out, most people were staring at us. Di kami maingay ha. Bat pa kasi kami nakauniform!?! hehe

- i realized, i think the title of the movie fits the students - UNREST-ful! hehe
